RAMI. Veronica Montanino
Temporarily suspended
The leitmotif of the site-specific interventions conceived by the artist - Veronica Montanino - for the Casino Nobile of Villa Torlonia is the theme of metamorphosis.
A topic at the centre of the artist's research, dedicated to the practice of remix and camouflage, and recalled by the mythological frescoes of the villa that refer to the stories of Apuleius, among which the events of Cupid and Psyche stand out. Metamorphosis is the "ordering principle" of the practice dear to Montanino of "mixing again" which the artist transforms with the most disparate materials, in a process of "ecology of the image", tending to create a new nature of her own very personal invention.
Veronica Montanino, was born in Rome on February 10th 1973. Her works, characterized by an environmental attitude and a lively use of color, appear in numerous solo and group exhibitions. She creates dozens of site-specific installations in historic buildings. In 2010 at Palazzo Collicola Arti Visive - Carandente Museum, she worked on furniture, ceiling and perimeter walls, creating a "Chamber of Wonders". Other permanent interventions are made by the artist for the Casa dell'Architettura di Roma, formerly the Roman Aquarium (2013) and for the MARCA Museo delle arti di Catanzaro (2018). For the MAAM Museo dell'Altro e dell'Altrove di Metropoliz she created the space for the toy library between 2012 and 2014 together with two other major environmental interventions. In 2015 he created a floating garden in London's Regent's Park.
